Job Summary

The Research Project Manager provides research and administrative support to the Division of Research which directly supports the research mission of the Department of OB-GYN. Acts as the coordinator for the research educational programs run by the Division and a liaison for research protocol development that stems from educational programs. Performs administrative functions, including grant submission preparation (generates budgets and justifications, bio sketches, letters of support, resource pages, other support pages) and regulatory/IRB compliance. Serves as a resource to other department staff regarding grant submissions and IRB. Assists in research project and clinical trial set-up and execution. Collaborates with Senior Division Manager to create divisional policies and educational tools. Mentors and trains research staff. Must demonstrate initiative in organizing and prioritizing own workload.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the daily administrative and research activities of the dept and serves as key contact.
  • Assists with grant submission for the Division
  • Serve as a resource to patients, study group, and hospital staff.
  • May recruit and interview patients under the auspices of the study protocols.
  • Compiles and collates data in proper format.
  • Develops and maintains network of contacts to effectively coordinate program.
  • Attends meetings pertaining to program activities and follows up on action items.
  • Assists with daily activities of research assistants and student interns.
  • Provides oversight and management of the NCS Laboratory area, and equipment.
  • Preserves and protects confidentiality of Hospital information.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, master’s preferred
  • Experience in research procedures/techniques, grant writing, public health, and/or program coordination, preferably in an academic/medical research environment.
  • Must possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
