What We Need:
The Business Systems & IT Analyst partners with teams across the organization to improve business processes through effective use of technology, while providing hands-on IT support to users in the Eastern Hemisphere. This role combines business analysis and process-improvement skills with capabilities in ERP systems, data, reporting and automation, as well as practical end-user technology support.
Working closely with the corporate IT team and managed service provider (MSP), the role serves as the local technology resource for Eastern Hemisphere users, helping troubleshoot time-sensitive issues, resolve hardware and connectivity problems, coordinate technology deployments, and ensure users have reliable access to the systems and tools required to perform their work.
What you’ll bring:
- Post-secondary education in Business, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in business systems analysis, ERP/business applications, data analytics, process improvement, or a related role.
- Experience with Epicor Kinetic or another manufacturing ERP is required.
- Experience supporting business applications and end-user technology in a corporate environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose hardware, software, connectivity, and user issues and determine when escalation is required.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases and data structures.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Power Query, and experience with Power BI or a comparable business-intelligence platform.
- Demonstrated ability to map processes, gather requirements, analyze problems, and translate business needs into practical solutions.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with business and technical stakeholders.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Automate, Power Apps, APIs, system integrations, or similar technologies is an asset.
- Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, energy, or similar operational environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and enterprise IT controls is an asset.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled business tools is an asset.
What you’ll do:
Business Process Analysis & Solution Design
- Partner with teams across the organization to understand business processes, pain points, and improvement opportunities.
- Map processes, identify inefficiencies and control gaps, and translate business needs into clear system requirements.
- Evaluate and recommend practical solutions using existing ERP functionality, Microsoft tools, third-party applications, automation, or custom development where appropriate.
- Evaluate solution options based on functional fit, implementation effort, total cost of ownership, risk, and expected business value, including ROI analysis for larger investments.
ERP & Business Systems
- Develop a strong understanding of the organization's ERP environment, business processes, data structures, and integrations.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve ERP configuration, workflows, reporting, and utilization.
- Investigate native ERP functionality and available partner solutions before recommending custom development.
- Support ERP integrations, data integrity, system governance, testing, troubleshooting, and user adoption.
Reporting, Data & Analytics
- Develop and maintain reporting and analytical solutions using tools such as Power BI, Excel, Power Query, and SQL.
- Work directly with relational data to investigate business questions, validate reporting, troubleshoot issues, and translate operational data into meaningful business information.
- Improve manual reporting and spreadsheet processes where opportunities exist for greater efficiency, reliability, or control.
Implementation & Continuous Improvement
- Develop workflow automation and lightweight business applications using tools such as Power Automate and Power Apps where appropriate.
- Coordinate solution implementation, testing, documentation, training, and user adoption.
- Build strong relationships with users and monitor implemented solutions to ensure expected business benefits are achieved.
IT & End-User Support
- Serve as the primary on-site technology resource for Eastern Hemisphere users to provide hands-on IT support, including troubleshooting time-sensitive hardware, software and connectivity issues, supporting employee onboarding/offboarding and equipment deployment, and coordinating with the MSP and corporate IT team as required.
- Follow corporate IT, cybersecurity, access-management, and technology standards and escalate security concerns promptly.
