Financial Analyst I – Full-Time (Exempt)

JOB SUMMARY
GNCO Inc. is a National Material Handling company. Our Finance team keeps the business liquid, accurate, and audit-ready, and plays a direct role in the decisions that drive our growth. The Financial Analyst I supports day-to-day treasury activity, including cash transactions and ongoing cash and bank monitoring, and manages inventory floorplan financing. This early-career role tracks cash and payments, spots exceptions early, and reports on liquidity and floorplan exposure to management. The analyst reports to the Finance Manager and works closely with Accounting, Inventory, Sales, and external banking and lending partners.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Treasury
- Prepare the daily cash position report across company bank accounts and operating companies
- Manage day-to-day payment activity, including preparing, processing, and verifying wires, ACH, and other electronic payments in line with approval controls
- Monitor bank accounts daily for incoming receipts, cleared payments, unusual activity, returned items, and potential fraud, and follow up on exceptions the same day
- Confirm sufficient funding for scheduled payment runs and coordinate with Accounting and the Finance Manager on timing and cash needs
- Assist Accounting with monthly bank reconciliations by providing bank activity detail and helping research and clear reconciling items
- Assist with short-term cash forecasting and weekly liquidity reporting
Floorplan
- Reconcile floorplan lender statements to the inventory subledger and general ledger
- Verify each financed unit is supported by an invoice, serial number, and funding record
- Track curtailments, payoffs, and maturity dates, and confirm payments are made on time
- Confirm sold units are paid off within the required timeframe, and escalate potential sold-out-of-trust exceptions immediately
- Review floorplan interest, fees, and credits against lender agreements
- Prepare floorplan aging, exposure, and availability reports for management
- Support lender audits and physical inventory checks
General
- Resolve discrepancies with banks, lenders, Inventory, Sales, and Accounting
- Keep clear, audit-ready workpapers and support documentation
- Identify opportunities to improve reconciliation accuracy and efficiency through process, automation, or Excel improvements
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
EXPERIENCE
- 1-3 years of experience in finance, accounting, treasury, or banking
- Working proficiency in Excel (lookups, pivot tables, formulas)
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to find and explain variances
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Familiarity with floorplan or inventory financing and lender relationship
• Experience with an ERP or accounting system such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and online banking platforms
• Understanding of general ledger and reconciliation principles
