This role serves as a technical expert in manufacturing data engineering, enabling the seamless integration of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), enterprise applications, industrial equipment, and analytics platforms through scalable, reliable, and secure data solutions.
Working closely with global manufacturing sites, IT, engineering, quality, and external technology partners, the MES Data Engineer ensures the availability, integrity, and accessibility of manufacturing data that supports production traceability, operational excellence, performance optimization, predictive analytics, and future AI-enabled capabilities.
As a key contributor within a global matrix organization, this role drives data innovation, influences technical solution design, and delivers data capabilities that directly improve manufacturing performance, customer satisfaction, and business growth.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Data Engineering & Integration
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support batch and near real-time data pipelines integrating DELMIA Apriso, ERP, warehouse, quality, test, automation, equipment, and enterprise systems.
- Develop and maintain scalable manufacturing data models that support production execution, traceability, material movement, quality management, equipment performance, labor tracking, scheduling, downtime analysis, and operational reporting.
- Translate manufacturing and analytics requirements into efficient data ingestion, transformation, storage, and consumption solutions using SQL, APIs, event-driven architectures, middleware, and enterprise integration technologies.
- Define and maintain interface specifications, data mappings, lineage documentation, and reconciliation processes across MES and connected business systems.
Data Quality, Reliability & Support
- Implement data quality frameworks, monitoring, validation, reconciliation, alerting, and recovery processes to ensure data accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and traceability.
- Analyze and resolve complex integration, data, and system issues through structured root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Support manufacturing operations by troubleshooting data pipelines, interfaces, and integration services to maintain system reliability and performance.
Solution Delivery & Governance
- Lead technical activities related to solution development, integration testing, deployment, cutover planning, and post-implementation support.
- Apply software engineering best practices including version control, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, release management, and change control.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise standards for security, access management, data governance, retention, and regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with manufacturing sites, analytics teams, IT organizations, engineering teams, implementation partners, and software vendors to deliver business-driven data solutions.
- Collaborate effectively across global teams and time zones to support deployments, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
- Maintain architecture diagrams, data models, interface documentation, lineage records, operational procedures, and support playbooks.
- Share technical expertise and provide guidance on data integration, manufacturing data management, and data quality best practices.
Who You Are
You build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to achieve shared objectives. You readily learn through experimentation and apply lessons learned to improve outcomes. You anticipate future possibilities and translate them into practical solutions that create value. You effectively analyze complex situations, make sound decisions with available information, and drive results through a structured and disciplined approach.
For This Role, You Will Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Automation, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, manufacturing systems, MES/MOM environments, systems integration, industrial software, manufacturing IT/OT, or digital manufacturing.
- Experience designing, developing, implementing, and supporting enterprise data solutions and system integrations.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing data domains including production, quality, traceability, equipment connectivity, and operational reporting.
- Solid knowledge of SQL, relational databases, APIs, integration frameworks, and end-to-end data architectures.
- Experience translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions and supporting testing, deployment, and operational support activities.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across global and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently while influencing solution decisions through technical expertise.
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
- Experience with MES/MOM platforms, manufacturing data solutions, or industrial data ecosystems; DELMIA Apriso experience is highly preferred.
- Experience building and supporting data pipelines, APIs, middleware solutions, ETL/ELT processes, and event-driven integrations.
- Working knowledge of Python, PowerShell, Spark, or related technologies used for data engineering and automation.
- Experience with database design, data modeling, data quality frameworks, monitoring solutions, and version control tools.
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, DevOps, ITIL, Lean, Six Sigma, or structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity, data governance, and secure data management practices within manufacturing environments.
- Experience supporting multi-site manufacturing deployments, system validation, cutover activities, and post-go-live support.
- Experience collaborating with global manufacturing organizations, implementation partners, and software vendors across multiple regions and time zones.
