Freelance audio QA Reviewer for Subtitles (ASREC)
We are building a team of native-speaking translators for upcoming freelance subtitle audio quality assurance projects involving high-profile video game titles, including Tactical FPS / Competitive Shooter content.
If you enjoy working with language, have a sharp ear for detail, and are interested in video games, we’d love to hear from you!
About the role
You will listen to audio recordings and review the corresponding subtitles to check that the subtitle text accurately reflects what is being said.
This is a quality control task using existing subtitles. You will not be required to transcribe audio or create subtitles.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Comparing the spoken content with the existing subtitle text.
- Identifying missing, added, or incorrect words and other discrepancies.
- Flagging unclear speech or issues that prevent an accurate comparison.
- Recording your findings clearly and consistently, following the project instructions.
Requirements
- A translator who is a native speaker of the language being reviewed.
- Excellent listening comprehension, spelling, and grammar in your native language.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify differences between spoken content and subtitles.
- Ability to follow instructions and meet agreed deadlines.
- Access to a reliable internet connection and good-quality headphones.
No previous experience in ASREC or subtitle audio QA is required. Familiarity with video games, particularly tactical FPS or competitive shooters, is a plus.
