Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating software functionality, identifying defects, creating test strategies, and collaborating with development teams to deliver high-quality products that meet business requirements.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning & Design

  • Analyze business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories.
  • Develop test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and test data.
  • Define test strategies and quality assurance processes.
  • Estimate testing efforts and timelines.

Functional Testing

  • Perform Manual Testing, Functional Testing, Integration Testing, System Testing, Regression Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Validate business workflows and application functionality.
  • Execute test cases and document results.
  • Identify, log, track, and verify defects through closure.

API & Database Testing

  • Test REST and SOAP APIs using tools such as Postman and SoapUI.
  • Validate backend services and integrations.
  • Perform database validation using SQL queries.
  • Ensure data integrity across applications.

Quality Management

  • Track defects using Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for recurring defects.
  • Monitor and report quality metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with defined quality standards and processes.

Agile Collaboration

  • Participate in Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Work closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners.
  • Support shift-left testing and continuous quality practices.
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

Testing Skills

  • Strong knowledge of SDLC and STLC.
  • Experience in Manual Testing and Defect Management.
  • Functional, Regression, Integration, System, and UAT Testing.
  • Test Case Preparation and Execution.
  • Root Cause Analysis and Defect Lifecycle Management.

API & Database Testing

  • Hands-on experience with Postman, SoapUI, or REST Assured.
  • Strong SQL skills for database validation.
  • Understanding of REST APIs, JSON, XML, and Microservices.

Tools

  • Jira, Azure DevOps, HP ALM, or equivalent test management tools.
  • Confluence for documentation.
  • Git for version control.

Automation Knowledge (Preferred)

  • Exposure to Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar automation tools.
  • Basic scripting knowledge in Java, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Understanding of test automation concepts and frameworks.

Qualifications

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience in Retail, eCommerce, Banking, or Healthcare domains.
  • Understanding of Performance and Security Testing.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
