Job Description – Java Backend Developer (5+ Years)

Experience: 5+ Years Role: Java Backend Developer / Senior Java Developer

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performance backend applications using Java.
  • Develop and enhance microservices-based applications using Spring Boot and Spring Framework.
  • Design and implement secure, scalable RESTful APIs and integrate with internal/external systems.
  • Participate in application design, technical discussions, code reviews, debugging, and performance optimization.
  • Develop applications following clean coding, SOLID principles, design patterns, and industry best practices.
  • Work with relational and/or NoSQL databases and optimize database queries.
  • Implement appropriate exception handling, logging, monitoring, and application security.
  • Develop unit and integration tests and maintain good code coverage.
  • Work with CI/CD pipelines and support deployments across different environments.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with product owners, architects, QA, DevOps, and other engineering teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Mandatory Technical Skills

  • 5+ years of hands-on Java backend development experience
  • Strong knowledge of Java 8/11/17+, including Collections, Streams, Lambda Expressions, Exception Handling, Multithreading, and Concurrency
  • Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Spring MVC
  • Strong experience in Microservices architecture and development
  • Strong experience designing and consuming REST APIs
  • Experience with Spring Data JPA / Hibernate
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL
  • Good understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, design patterns, and data structures
  • Experience with JUnit, Mockito, or similar testing frameworks
  • Experience with Maven or Gradle
  • Working knowledge of Git
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience debugging and troubleshooting complex backend/production issues
