Position Overview

Seeking Senior DevOps Engineers to support the FBI CJIS CTP – Applications Team.

The successful candidates will be responsible for configuring, managing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications, with particular emphasis on the Atlassian Data Center Suite. This role will support automation, accessibility testing, application plugins, user operations, documentation, and enterprise configuration within a SAFe Agile environment.

The Senior DevOps Engineer will help ensure mission-critical applications remain scalable, secure, reliable, and aligned with enterprise standards for collaboration, documentation, change management, and CI/CD processes.

Current Technical Architecture Experience

Candidates should demonstrate recent hands-on experience with enterprise application administration and DevOps practices, including:

• Atlassian Data Center applications and enterprise COTS platforms

• Jira Software and Jira Service Management

• Confluence, Crowd, Bitbucket, and Bamboo

• PostgreSQL-based application databases

• Groovy, Python, or equivalent scripting

• REST APIs and Atlassian native APIs

• Enterprise workflow, permissions, configuration, and integration standards

• Accessibility and Section 508 compliance testing

• FISMA documentation and Authority to Operate (ATO) activities

• Agile/SAFe development and delivery environments

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in DevOps, application administration, or a closely related discipline.

• Direct hands-on responsibility administering Atlassian Data Center products and other enterprise COTS applications.

• Experience administering and supporting:

• Jira Software

• Jira Service Management

• Confluence

• Crowd

• Bitbucket

• Bamboo

• Experience conducting Section 508 compliance testing for application features and modifications.

• Experience maintaining FISMA-related documentation and contributing to ATO activities.

• Experience developing technical and user-facing support/reference documentation.

• Hands-on experience troubleshooting, installing plugins, performing updates, and providing operational support for COTS applications.

• Experience querying and maintaining PostgreSQL application databases.

• Experience customizing Jira workflows, permissions, issue types, screens, and fields.

• Experience automating or extending Jira and Confluence functionality using Groovy, Python, or equivalent scripting languages.

• Experience developing or implementing enterprise configuration standards for Atlassian applications.

• Experience integrating COTS applications with enterprise platforms using REST APIs and Atlassian native APIs.

• Experience working in an Agile environment and participating in ceremonies such as PI Planning, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, and Backlog Grooming.

• Active Secret clearance or higher.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure, administer, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise Atlassian Data Center applications.

• Support Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, Crowd, Bitbucket, and Bamboo.

• Install, configure, maintain, and update application plugins.

• Customize Jira workflows, permissions, issue types, screens, and fields to support enterprise business processes.

• Develop and maintain automation using Groovy, Python, or equivalent scripting technologies.

• Query and maintain PostgreSQL application databases supporting backend operations and configuration changes.

• Integrate Atlassian applications with other enterprise platforms using REST and native Atlassian APIs.

• Conduct Section 508 accessibility testing for new features and modifications.

• Maintain FISMA-related technical documentation and contribute to ATO activities.

• Develop user support and reference guides for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Establish and maintain enterprise-wide configuration standards for Atlassian applications.

• Participate in SAFe Agile ceremonies and delivery activities.

• Provide hands-on production support and troubleshooting for mission-critical applications.

• Train users on Atlassian best practices and support adoption of new workflows, configurations, and plugins.

• Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to maintain secure, scalable, and reliable application environments.
