The Business Analyst, Walmart & Target supports the sales organization through item setup and maintenance, omni-channel performance tracking, and day-to-day office operations. This role translates POS, category, consumer, and competitive data into clear business implications, maintains data integrity across internal systems and both retailer portals, and enables informed decision-making and operational efficiency for the Walmart US and Target businesses.
Responsibilities:
Reporting & Business Health
- Create, maintain, and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly POS omni-channel reporting using Scintilla & Target
- Build and maintain recurring scorecards for internal leadership and external customer top-to-top meetings on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly cadence
- Produce ad-hoc reporting accurately and distribute on time to internal and external customers
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis with curiosity and agility to uncover improvement opportunities and business growth
Customer & Category Insights
- Represent the voice of the customer internally to inform brand, innovation, and go-to-market decisions
- Conduct market visits and retail audits to support business planning and account growth
- Collaborate with Sales on customer presentations, line reviews, and Quarterly Business Reviews
- Analyze price gaps to competition, everyday and promoted price architecture, to support pricing recommendations
- Support promotional planning, submission, and post-event analysis
Item Management & Data Integrity
- Manage new item setup, item maintenance, and change forms for Walmart across Supplier One and Scintilla
- Manage Target item listing, setup, and ongoing maintenance
- Support e-commerce item setup, content maintenance, and business development across Walmart.com and Target.com
- Monitor and resolve item, cost, and purchase order discrepancies with internal cross-functional partners and retailer contacts
Showroom & Team Support
- Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for the Bentonville showroom and office, including receiving samples, supplies, equipment, and workspace needs
- Support meeting logistics for internal team meetings and customer visits, including scheduling, materials preparation, and room setup
- Partner daily with the sales team to understand priorities and provide effective business support
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 1–3 years of sales analytics, category management, commercial analytics, or retail analytics experience
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret POS, category, market share, and shopper data into actionable recommendations
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; Power BI experience is a plus
- Experience with retail and syndicated data tools; Scintilla preferred
- Walmart Retail Link, Supplier One, or Item 360 (i360) experience preferred
- Target Partners Online (POL) experience preferred; Target item setup and vendor item management experience is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail, organization, and commitment to data integrity
- Strong project-management and prioritization skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong team collaboration; able to contribute and progress work with limited day-to-day oversight
- Positive attitude, self motivated to improve processes and willingness to embrace change as our business grows
