Main responsibilities:

The Payroll Business Analyst supports Payroll operations through a broad understanding of payroll processes, systems, and data. The role analyzes processes and operational data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement, standardization, and automation, and partners across business teams to develop effective solutions. The position supports initiatives that improve accuracy, efficiency, data quality, and the associate experience while enabling reliable and repeatable payroll processing.

  • Analyzes and maps current- and future-state processes to identify inefficiencies, gaps, and opportunities for improvement, standardization, and automation.
  • Analyzes operational data and develops metrics and reporting to identify trends, measure performance, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Uses business, technical, and HR expertise to develop solutions that streamline processes, improve data quality, and enhance the associate experience.
  • Applies data, root-cause analysis, and business requirements to evaluate processes and solutions and support informed decision-making.
  • Collaborates with management and cross-functional teams to implement solutions that improve efficiency, accuracy, automation, and operational quality.
  • Partners across front- and back-office teams to understand end-to-end process interdependencies and develop solutions aligned with best practices.
  • Supports system upgrades and implementations through requirements gathering, data and process validation, testing, and operational impact analysis.
  • Bridges process, data, and technical knowledge across business teams to support successful project outcomes.
  • Partners with Project Managers and technical teams to design and implement new processes and technology.
  • Supports communications, training, and change management efforts to transition new processes and technology into operations.

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

Education Level: High School Diploma/GED required. A.A., B.A., or B.S. degree is strongly desired, and a Certified Payroll Professional (CCP) is desirable.

Experience Level: Three or more years Payroll and HRIS experience

Skills and Experiences:

  • Advanced analytical/research skills to resolve issues quickly and to continually review and change practices for maximum efficiency.
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft or similar software is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of time and attendance and case management systems.
  • Strong Microsoft office experience (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changes.
  • Accurate, detail oriented and ability to multitask.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to have the appropriate level of interaction with customers interpreting procedures, policies, and technical applications.
  • High degree of initiative and motivation; self-starter able to take direction when needed and pivot based on changing priorities.
  • Proven team player.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a strong sense of urgency.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills to ensure all tasks are performed timely, legally and ethically
  • Must be able to manage confidential information and maintain confidentiality.
