Role Summary

As a Middle iOS Engineer you will join a cross-functional product squad of engineers, a product manager and a designer. You will own features end to end, from grooming through to App Store release, and you will be part of the iOS chapter, which sets our standards for architecture, quality and tooling. We are rebuilding the app for iOS 26, so you will be shipping into a modern, modular SwiftUI codebase and shaping how the new experience is built.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build product features in SwiftUI, working with designers and product managers to deliver polished, accessible screens that support right-to-left Arabic layouts.
  • Work within our architecture: MVVM with @Observable view models, an adapter layer between UI and business logic, Factory dependency injection and local Swift packages for UI, navigation, networking and tracking.
  • Integrate with backend services through async/await networking and API connectors generated from OpenAPI specifications, including our backend-driven UI framework, where the server defines which sections a screen shows.
  • Release features behind feature flags and A/B tests, and instrument them with analytics so product decisions are based on data.
  • Write unit tests (XCTest and Swift Testing with generated mocks) and snapshot tests, and contribute to our end-to-end test suites.
  • Take part in the release train: CI on GitHub Actions, fastlane, TestFlight and phased App Store rollouts, followed by monitoring crash and performance signals after each release.
  • Review pull requests, write and discuss RFCs, and improve the performance, stability and developer experience of the app.

Desired Experience

  • 3+ years of professional iOS development, including at least one app shipped to the App Store and supported in production.
  • Strong Swift and hands-on SwiftUI experience: state ownership (@State, @Binding, @Observable), view lifecycle (.task, onAppear), lists, forms and navigation flows.
  • Solid experience with Swift Concurrency (async/await, tasks, actors) and working knowledge of Combine.
  • A clear understanding of architecture and separation of concerns: MVVM or a similar pattern, the repository pattern, dependency injection, SOLID principles and code designed to be testable.
  • A production mindset: safe code without force unwraps or fatalError shortcuts, proper loading, error and empty states, backward compatibility with older iOS versions, and attention to SwiftUI performance.
  • The ability to explain trade-offs, for example how to persist data locally or how to structure a module, and to justify the choice you made.
  • Unit testing as part of your normal workflow. Comfort with Git, pull-request workflows and code review.

Nice To Have

  • Experience with modular apps built from Swift packages and with project generation tools such as XcodeGen or Tuist.
  • Experience with backend-driven or server-driven UI. UIKit experience and SwiftUI/UIKit interoperability.
  • Analytics instrumentation (Google Analytics 4, Firebase) and A/B testing frameworks.
  • Mobile CI/CD: fastlane, GitHub Actions, TestFlight and phased releases.
  • Localization and right-to-left layout.
  • Exposure to Kotlin Multiplatform or React Native modules inside a native app.
  • Crash and performance monitoring tools, and snapshot or UI test automation.
