Senior Python Engineer

Ciklum is looking for an Senior Python Engineer to join our team in Spain.

About the role:

As an Senior Python Engineer, become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow providing high-quality, reliable technical support and IT services to Ciklum employees. You will contribute to the development of our client’s internal platform by implementing AI also on it so that employees can carry out their tasks (enquiries, holiday requests, etc.).

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement complex backend features from conception through to deployment, ensuring they meet strategic business objectives.
• Write clean, secure, highly testable. scalable and well-documented code that adheres to coding standards and best practices.
• Perform comprehensive code reviews to ensure high code quality and facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
• Actively participate in multiple aspects of the SDLC, including planning, development, testing, and deployment.
• Assist in upholding and enhancing the team's engineering and quality standards, and support team in adopting these.
• Engage in the technical interviewing process.

Requirements:

• Python, senior level, with FastAPI or a comparable framework in production
• Deep PostgreSQL: schema design, indexing, query performance, working with a database that is live and holds real customer data
• Alembic (or comparable) migrations. Specifically: changing a schema without downtime, backfilling existing rows, and being able to roll back
• SQLAlchemy or equivalent ORM experience
• Designing an event and metrics data model for in-product analytics. Capturing usage events, aggregating them, and exposing them through an API for reporting
• REST API design and integration with external systems

Desirable:

• pgvector or other vector search in PostgreSQL
• Azure (AKS, Key Vault). AWS or GCP experience transfers, but Azure is faster
• Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD
• Production operations: metrics, alerting, error tracking, incident response
