Principal Oracle Database Administrator
The Principal Oracle Database Administrator at SimCorp, at the IC6 grade, plays a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of Oracle database systems that support SimCorp’s operational and business objectives. With typically 5-8 years of experience in Oracle database administration or a related field, this role provides technical expertise, leads database projects independently, and collaborates with stakeholders to optimize database systems. The Principal Oracle Database Administrator ensures alignment with organizational goals, drives process improvements, and mentors junior team members.
Key Responsibilities could include
- Manage and maintain Oracle databases to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance across SimCorp’s operations
- Design and implement database solutions, ensuring scalability and alignment with organizational and client needs
- Monitor database performance and optimize queries, indexes, and configurations to enhance efficiency and minimize downtime
- Develop and implement database security protocols to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry standards
- Lead database migration, upgrade, and backup projects, ensuring seamless execution and minimal disruption
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application development, troubleshooting, and integration efforts
- Mentor and support junior database administrators, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement
- Document database processes, configurations, and best practices to support knowledge sharing and operational consistency
