Lead Software Engineer- Java Backend OR Fullstack (React)

Key responsibilities

The Senior Software Engineer will:

• lead innovation, prototype new functionalities, and evaluate emerging technologies.
• drive strategy and technical vision in collaboration with multidisciplinary experts.
• mentor other developers and enhance engineering culture.
• participate in application design and all phases of the SDLC.
• translate business requirements into technical documentation and coordinate delivery with the development team, incorporating customer feedback.
• collaborate with technologists to deliver within an Agile framework.
• conduct impact analyses and implement robust data management governance (checks, controls, reconciliations, data quality monitoring).
• aspire to be a technology leader within the team.

The team

You will join the Data Management Tooling team in India—a global group delivering Data Management Technology Solutions, including Data Governance, Data Lineage, and Data Quality Monitoring, to all business areas, support, and control functions. This enables internal clients to meet regulatory requirements, create business value, and reduce costs. As a software developer, you will be pivotal to the team’s success, driving innovation and excellence. Your skills and experience

•you’re curious to explore how AI can improve how we build, deliver, and optimize workflows. You do this with sound judgment – validating outputs and aligning with policies, risk standards, and ethical use.

• 11+ years experience in Java Backend development OR Java Fullstack development with React.
• expertise in Java for distributed environments.
• strong knowledge of Java libraries and frameworks.
• practical experience with version control and build tools.
• familiarity with application servers and relational databases.
• understanding of agile development practices.
• devOps mindset and technical troubleshooting skills.
• knowledge of enterprise monitoring and ticket management tools.
• experience in global teams.
• solid experience with Git, Confluence, and exposure to Crucible, Crowd, Nexus, and SonarQube etc.
