Role Overview
Pivot Point Solutions is seeking an Expert Business Analyst specializing in Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and Operational Resilience to lead complex assessments across critical business and technology functions. This position will work across business operations, application teams, infrastructure, cybersecurity, Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, and enterprise risk organizations to identify critical services, understand dependencies, quantify the impact of disruptions, and establish appropriate recovery requirements.
This is a highly collaborative, project-focused role requiring someone who can independently lead enterprise BIA engagements from initial planning and stakeholder discovery through analysis, executive presentation, and actionable recovery recommendations. The ideal candidate combines strong Business Analysis capabilities with deep experience in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Cyber Recovery, and Operational Resilience.
Your Day-to-Day Activities
• Lead complex Business Impact Analysis assessments across enterprise business and technology functions.
• Plan and facilitate BIA workshops with business leaders, application owners, architects, infrastructure teams, cybersecurity, and other stakeholders.
• Identify and document critical business functions, services, applications, technology platforms, and third-party dependencies.
• Evaluate the potential financial, operational, customer, regulatory, safety, and reputational impacts of service disruptions.
• Establish and document Recovery Time Objectives (RTO), Recovery Point Objectives (RPO), Maximum Tolerable Downtime (MTD), and recovery priorities.
• Analyze end-to-end business processes and map dependencies across applications, infrastructure, data, vendors, and supporting services.
• Evaluate application recoverability and identify gaps between business recovery requirements and existing technology capabilities.
• Translate BIA findings into practical recovery strategies, remediation activities, and operational resilience recommendations.
• Partner with Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, Cyber Recovery, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and Risk teams to align technology recovery capabilities with business requirements.
• Lead resilience and operational-readiness initiatives from assessment and planning through recommendation and implementation.
• Develop project plans, schedules, milestones, status reporting, and executive communications for resilience initiatives.
• Track project risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, decisions, and remediation activities.
• Maintain and improve BIA methodologies, templates, standards, procedures, and governance processes.
• Support internal audits, compliance reviews, regulatory assessments, and other enterprise resilience activities.
• Develop executive dashboards, metrics, presentations, and reports communicating resilience risks and improvement opportunities.
• Present assessment findings, recovery gaps, recommendations, and strategic roadmaps to senior leadership and governance groups.
• Serve as a BIA subject matter expert and educate stakeholders on Business Continuity, recovery planning, and operational resilience practices.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen resilience through process improvements, governance enhancements, automation, and improved recovery capabilities.
The Job Requirements
• Significant experience performing and leading Business Impact Analysis assessments within complex enterprise environments.
• Demonstrated experience independently facilitating BIA workshops with business and technology stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of Recovery Time Objectives (RTO), Recovery Point Objectives (RPO), Maximum Tolerable Downtime (MTD), and recovery prioritization.
• Experience assessing financial, operational, regulatory, customer, safety, and reputational impacts associated with business disruptions.
• Strong experience identifying and documenting business, application, infrastructure, data, and third-party dependencies.
• Experience translating BIA findings into actionable Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Cyber Recovery, or Operational Resilience requirements.
• Strong understanding of Business Continuity Management (BCM), Disaster Recovery (DR), and enterprise resilience principles.
• Experience conducting application recoverability or technology resilience assessments.
• Ability to lead complex cross-functional assessments and strategic initiatives involving both business and technical organizations.
• Strong Business Analysis skills, including requirements gathering, process analysis, workshop facilitation, documentation, and stakeholder management.
• Experience managing project plans, milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, and remediation activities.
• Ability to develop executive-level dashboards, reports, presentations, and recommendations.
• Strong written, verbal, facilitation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to communicate complex technology and resilience risks to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently and serve as a trusted advisor to business and technology stakeholders.
• Must be local and available to work onsite as business and project needs require.
You'll Stand Out If You Have
• Experience leading enterprise-wide BIA programs involving numerous business functions and technology platforms.
• Experience within utility, energy, infrastructure, financial services, healthcare, or another highly regulated industry.
• Experience integrating Business Impact Analysis with Disaster Recovery, Cyber Recovery, and technology resilience programs.
• Strong knowledge of application dependency mapping and end-to-end business service analysis.
• Experience assessing gaps between business-defined recovery objectives and actual technology recovery capabilities.
• Experience supporting audits, regulatory reviews, compliance programs, or formal resilience assessments.
• Experience developing or improving enterprise BIA methodologies, governance models, templates, and standards.
• Familiarity with recognized Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, risk management, or operational resilience frameworks.
• Experience presenting resilience risks and strategic recommendations to senior executives or governance committees.
